Cabrera is a village in the province of María Trinidad Sánchez in the Dominican Republic. It is situated on the North coast, in a region called
the Costa Verde at about 130 kilometres from Santo Domingo.
Cabrera is considered as one of the most beautiful places in the Dominican Republic. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, it has one of the nicest
beaches, rivers, an exotic vegetation and many natural attractions . El Breton is the name of the natural park reserve.
Today, its mayor Jorge Cavoli, is the youngest mayor in the island. He was born in Cabrera and runs the town with a stable economical policy.
Former counsellor in New-York, Guillermo Linares was also born in Cabrera. A strong foreign community is working with
Jorge Cavoli to improve security, quality and town development thanks to charitable organizations.
One of the nicest beaches is situated near Cabrera in the area of Playa Grande (Big Beach), quoted by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the nicest beaches in the world. Other local beaches include Playa Precioso, El Diamante (Diamond Beach), Playa La Entrada, El
Caleton de Dario (Orchid Bay Beach), El Caleton del Medio, et El Caleton de Chiquito.
The region of Cabrera, as the majority of the Dominican Republic is now open to foreign investors and therefore
