In fact, this country is situated between the equator and the tropic of cancer, in the heart of the greater Antilles, west of the island
of Cuba and east of Puerto Rico;
thus,its tropical climate is tempered by the trade winds the average yearly temperatures goes up to 30°C in the day and 20°C in the night,
these are very constant.
With an area of 48734 sqm, it's the second caribbean country, the Dominican Republic spreads over 2/3 of Hispaniola Island, the other
part is Haïti.
Alongside its territory, you will find 1600 kms of coasts (North coast: Atlantic ocean, South coast: Caribbean sea), as well as the highest
mountain of the west Indies with the Pico Duarte (3175 m).
